The process initiates with atmospheric distillation, where crude oil is heated and vaporized at ambient pressure to recover lighter hydrocarbon streams. The resultant heavy-bottom residue subsequently undergoes vacuum distillation. Operating under a vacuum environment effectively lowers the boiling points of components, thereby preventing thermal degradation and maintaining the integrity of heavier fractions. This integrated two-stage methodology ensures maximum product yield, improved energy utilization, and exceptional operational reliability.
